About Blooma Tree Experts
Blooma Tree Service is owned and operated by Martin Macauley, an ISA Certified Arborist. (Why hire an arborist?) Martin comes from a long line of tree experts. With a grandfather who was an Oregon lumberman in the 1930s and 40s, and a father who founded a successful lumber company in the 1960s and 70s, Martin grew up with a love of trees and a keen knowledge of balancing customer needs with natural aesthetics.
After earning a mechanical engineering degree (UW '85) and an M.B.A. (Seattle U '90), Martin found life as a Boeing engineer too stuffy (he calls it the "cubicle lifestyle"). He returned to the outdoors as a tree man, soon earning his arborist certificate from the International Society of Arboriculture and founding Blooma. (Do you know that only 2% of those who take the arborist test pass the first time? Martin did!) Click here to find Martin's ISA certification.
Blooma is a family business, and Martin employs his two sons,
Josiah and Michael, during school breaks. Josiah is currently a business major at the UW Bothell, and Michael is graduating fromRoosevelt High School, preparing to enter an engineering program at some university-to-be-chosen.
Our hard-working employees are Drew, a Viking with extensive landscaping experience, and Chris, our groundsman and stump grinder extraordinaire. When possible, we get our Croatian buddy, Vuka, to take a break as toddler-watcher and join us on a tough job.
